Quest L-Lysine provides 1000mg of the essential amino acid L-lysine. Amino acids are used by the body to form proteins, which are required for biological functions and cell structures. L-lysine supports immune function and has been shown to inhibit the herpes simplex virus responsible for cold sores.L-Lysine may promote greater calcium retention which is a major component of bones. Rich in lysine, collagen is a major protein of the skin.

Recommended as a supplement for those eating a vegetarian or vegan diet as it is not found in many non animal foods.
